The latest couple months, I had an outstanding lessons which could be my barometer to be the outstanding muslimah. Yep! I joined The World Muslimah Beauty contest :). First time I knew this event was on August 2011. But actually, the registration form was already closed at that time. So, I planned that I will joined this event on next year, which is 2012 and I did on May :).
I fill the registration form and I saw the tagline which is "Soleha, Smart, Stylish". It changed my mind and perspective ater. FYI, I was always adoring the philosophy of "Beauty, Brain, Behavior". There's no something wrong with that philosophy. But then I realized that it would be nothing if we can reach those 3 aspects without being soleha. So, being soleha is the most important aspect to all moslem women in the whole world, and this contest taught me this thing.
While I fill the registration also, I can see that being a muslimah is not only about wearing hijab, but also create many values in our life which is being a socialist woman, take care about so many things outside such as taking care of orphan kids, saving the animals, saving the earth, and so on. Subhanallah, it taught me to always keep hablumminallah and hablumminannas.
The World Muslimah Beauty contest also encourage us to be the moslem social-entrepreneur and it reminds me to Siti Khadijah r.a (wife of Prophet Muhammad SAW). She's such a wonderful woman. So wonderful. She's pretty, brave, great entrepreneur, but she didn't forget to always did the right thing as a muslimah. I know, I am so lucky to know her as my role-model by reading about her story and fortunately, I am so inspired by her. :)
This is the most important part that I've get from this contest which is keep learning about Al-Qur'an :'). Always makes Al-Qur'an be our way of life. Well, one of the criteria of this event is all the contestants have to be able to read and understanding Al-Qur'an.
And this is the quotation of message from World Muslimah Foundation.
Oh ya. Alhamdulillah, fortunately, I was chosen as a Semifinalist The World Muslimah Beauty :D but I was failed on the semifinal-being-final round. It's okay :') I didn't treat this event as the competition but rather to the learning that can makes my life better than before. I hope that I can join this event again in the next year! :D amiin..
thank you,
Aquila :)
